How do I use PayPass?
Simply tap your card against the PayPass reader and wait for the beep. There’s no need to sign or enter a pin for amounts of $100 or less, just Tap & Go™.

PayPass is ideal for transactions of $100 or less as no signature or PIN is required. No need to count your change, or worry if you have enough cash on hand to purchase what you need. It's quick, easy and convenient.

Is PayPass safe to use?
Absolutely. MasterCard and the Commonwealth Bank's security systems continue to protect you from unauthorised transactions. So the same conditions apply to your new card as your previous card. However, these features also enhance security for added peace of mind:

1. Since you keep hold of your card at all times throughout the transaction, you'll always know it's in safe hands.
2. Your card must touch the PayPass terminal to work, so there's no risk of accidental payments.
3. Even if your card accidentally touches the terminal more than once, the transaction will only be processed once.
